Q&A

What yarn types can I use with the A1 Pro Max?

The A1 Pro Max is designed for a wide range of yarn weights, fibers, and textures, supporting yarn up to 9 mm in diameter. For different yarns, you can adjust the tension to help maintain a smoother, more controlled feed.

Will it make smooth, even yarn cakes with different yarns?

The yarn guide, stabilizing arm, press roller, and adjustable tension work together to help reduce slipping, loose winding, tangling, and uneven buildup for neater, more consistent yarn cakes.

How much yarn can I wind at once?

The A1 Pro Max can wind yarn cakes up to 16 oz, depending on the yarn type and thickness. The larger capacity means fewer splits and interruptions when preparing yarn for bigger projects.

Do I need to clamp it to the table?

For normal winding on a flat, stable surface, the A1 Pro Max can sit directly on the tabletop. A clamp is included when extra stability is needed, especially on uneven surfaces or when working with a yarn swift.

How do I adjust the tension for different yarns?

Use the tension adjuster to fine-tune the yarn feed. Loosen the tension if bulky yarn feels too tight or difficult to wind, and tighten it if finer yarn is feeding too loosely.

What should I do if the yarn gets tangled or the machine stops?

If the yarn becomes knotted or tangled, turn the machine off, straighten the yarn, and restart once it can feed freely again. The machine may also pause when it encounters excessive resistance.

Why does the winding speed sometimes slow down?

Some slowdown is normal. Bulky yarn creates more friction, and the growing yarn cake adds weight as it winds. Different yarn types and thicknesses may therefore wind at slightly different speeds.
